I think that this is an important story to share. I really like how you were able to look at this experience and reflect on how it is important that schools and sports systems need more diversity. In addition to this, as you said, more action needs to be taken when there are racist comments made in these spaces. I know you answered this a bit, but I am wondering if your coach ever got in trouble for this comment and if similar comments continue to be made?
At my high school, we had similar stories from our sports teams. It was interesting to see how it was handled at the moment and how you know look back on it. Do you know if there were other sports or coaches that made similar comments and then just have a slap on the wrist? I am curious how the family of that girl reacted to the comments or did she ever tell them?
