Artist Statement

Hi Besties! ….“A Day in the Life of a Fat Girl” is pretty self explanatory, but we made this film to show what an average fat girl goes through on an everyday basis, especially all the little things that people may not notice. Hegemonic films rarely have someone who is fat as the main character, and when they do, the person is often there for comedic relief, or they want to be thin, or being fat is their only personality trait. We’re excited for our film to disrupt these dominant narratives. We want to give a huge thank you to all the actors and extras who helped make this film possible. We’d also like to thank Andy and Eric for giving us the opportunity to make and share this film. Also we’d like to thank Aizoe for her out-of-this-world baking skills and delicious cookies. We had a lot of fun making this film together, and we hope you enjoy it! Also, keep an eye out for the easter eggs in each scene 😉
