I love how you are able to concisely summarize the movie and use specific evidence to support your critical framework. I like how you pointed out how fans/the public have responded to Peter’s character – there is a conversation to be had about the evolution of male leads in newly released romantic comedies.
I think you did a really good job of explaining how the movie is both groundbreaking (in its portrayal of Peter, for instance) and a fairly ordinary rom com. I had no idea that Lara’s sisters were played by white rather than mixed women, so that was new information to me. Overall, I loved that you picked a movie that is very recent and also very popular, being hailed as extremely new in the genre for its storyline and characters and picked apart some of the common conversation about the movie.
