Julia, I thought your video was great! I really appreciated that you brought both the film’s strengths and weaknesses into the discussion. Something I struggle with when watching films is not letting the weaknesses take away from what the film did well, and I think your attention to both strengthened your analysis overall. We both struggled with some tech issues, but we got it done!
Julia! I really adore how you acknowledged all of the good that this movie has done for the LGBTQ+ community while also highlighting the possible harm that was done. I feel like it was to the point while also giving the context needed for someone who hasn’t seen the movie. Your VLOG made me curious about the ways in which the main character’s identities as a white queer man enforces and/or combats a hegemonic depiction of what queerness looks like. But thats a VLOG for another day! great job <3
